Ford Rocket Gearbox  Ref: trXrocketGBOX Custom built in house by time served transmission technicians, comes complete with Tran-X alloy top cover, and one piece selector finger for increased durability.

This Tran X gearbox utilises standard mainshaft and comprises of 1st, 2nd, 3rd mainshaft speed gears, first motion shaft and assembled layshaft cluster, comes complete with full gasket oil seal and bearing set.

You will need to supply a donor gearbox, this must be from the following list. Capri 1.6/2.0 82 on, Cortina Mk3 2.0, Cortina Mk4/5 1.6GT/2.0/2.3, Escort RS2000 Mk1/2, Escort RS Mexico Mk2, Sierra 1.6/2.0.

Ford Type 9 Gearbox  Ref: type9gearBox Custom built for you by Tran X and by time served transmission technicians, as kit plus comes complete with Tran-X alloy top cover, and one piece selector finger for increased durability.
This Tran X Gearbox, this kit utilises standard main shaft and comprises of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th main shaft speed gears, 1st motion shaft and assembled laygear cluster. 1st and 2nd mainshaft gears operate on a bearing race and caged needle roller assembly.

If you offer a donor box it must be from the following list, Capri 1.6/2.0, 02/83 onwards, Capri 2.8, 11/82 onwards, Sierra 1.6/1.8/2.0 to 12/88, Sierra XR4I, Sierra XR4x4 2.8.

Tran X SL72 4 Speed Dog Gear Box  Ref: SL724SPEED This is the latest addition to the Tran-X gearbox range offers features never before seen on this type of transmission. Assembled inside a brand new Tran-X cast iron housing the 72mm centered dog gears offer unique durability and strength.

Here are some of the fantastic features
Tran-X cast casing.
The gear box is a direct replacement for the Ford type 9 transmission, the housing allows the use of quick release bell housing bolts, and offers increased durability over the original Ford housings.

72mm gear centre
A gears durability is directly linked to the center distance from which it operates. The Tran X SL72 operates at a center distance of 72mm. The original ford type 9 operates at a 70mm center distance.

Dog Engagement
Dog engagement is a tough business to be in, dog teeth can pass each other as much as 18 times per second, before meeting violently at the point of gear engagement. The SL72 is fitted with the latest Tran-X dog forms which minimise dog damage and improve gear shift quality.

Tran-X Gears
All speed gears run on caged needle roller bearings, reducing drag and improving shift quality.

This Tran X Gearbox is only available as a complete gearbox built in house by experience transmission technicians, the Tran X SL72 comes complete with alloy top cover, one piece selector finger and a quick shift gear stick.
